San Mateo County Parks Abound
What does “974” have to do with South San Francisco? That is the acreage of beautiful San Bruno Mountain Park, where parts of our city snuggle up to. This glorious park is filled with miles of trails and several endangered plant and animal species. The South San Francisco Public Library invited Park Ranger Katherine Wright from San Mateo County Parks to give an informational presentation about all of the beautiful spaces in our area. We learned about sunset tide pooling at Fitzgerald Preserve, camping at Memorial Park and the new Junior Park Ranger Program. Patrons enjoyed learning about the perks of each park and what spaces are going to be developed in the future. A patron said, “I thought we had visited all of the parks in the area. I guess we have some work to do.” Not sure if you have been to all of the county parks? Check out the San Mateo County Parks website and sign-up for their news and events email newsletter.
