Do you have a compost collection program where you work or go to school? If you don’t Assembly Bill (AB) 1826 may require that you add one.
Effective January 1, 2019, businesses that create 4 cubic yards or more of waste per week must arrange for organic waste recycling services. Organic waste includes food waste, landscaping trimmings, non-hazardous wood waste, and food-soiled paper waste. AB 1826 requires that all cities and counties report on business compliance.
South San Francisco Scavenger Company (SSFSC) can help businesses in South San Francisco, Brisbane, and Millbrae to implement a successful organics recycling collection program. Please contact SSFSC at 650.589.4020 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
Recycling helps to conserve resources, reduce greenhouse gases, and extend the life of landfills. It also helps create a healthy environment for our community and future generations. For more information on AB 1826 and other California recycling requirements, please visit CalRecycle.
