Below Market Rate (BMR) Units

The BMR Inclusionary Housing Program requires developers to sell or rent a certain percentage of units in new developments at a below-market-rate price that is affordable to low to moderate income households. To be eligible to for a BMR unit, a household must meet specific income and first-time homeowner requirements.

Single Room Occupancy Units

Are you a household of one person looking for affordable housing? A single room occupancy unit might be just what you need.  Single room occupancy (SRO) refers to a building that houses people in single rooms. This means that tenants often share bathrooms and kitchens. This option is available if you are a household of one person. 

The City of South San Francisco has three SRO buildings.
