Cultural Activities Grant Program
Fiscal Year 2018-19
Accepting Applications from April 22nd-May 31st
The City of South San Francisco is pleased to announce a Cultural Activities Grant to support community organizations and artists who wish to offer free or low-cost events and activities that will expose the community of South San Francisco to cultural and recreational activities and programming. The purpose of the grant is to foster cultural experiences for the community, infuse neighborhoods with the arts and increase exposure to cultural activities that will lead to a greater understanding and respect for diverse cultural heritages.
For Fiscal Year 2018-19, the City has allocated $10,000 to support this program and it will be administered by the Parks and Recreation Department. Applications will be accepted until May 31st 2019 at 5:00 p.m. Applications will be reviewed by a sub-committee of two Park and Recreation Commissioners and one staff person. Notification of grant awards will be released in early June and funding will be released thereafter.
To qualify for these funds, applicants must demonstrate that they are serving the South San Francisco community. No funds may be used towards the applicant’s administrative costs. Typical grant awards range from $500-$2,000. Any recipient of the grant funding shall be required to enter into a funding agreement with the City which will detail the objectives to be achieved with the use of the funds, and complete a summary report within 60 days following the event. Failure to complete this report will impact the organization’s ability to request funds in subsequent years.
We are excited to share this program with the community and look forward to supporting cultural activities that highlight the diversity of South San Francisco.
