The Capital Improvement Program is a short and long-term plan for projects related to the City's infrastructure. Projects are categorized into six areas: streets, storm drains, sanitary sewers, public facilities, parks, and traffic. The highlights below are in a pre-construction or construction phase.
Junipero Serra and King Drive Intersection Improvements - This HSIP Federal Aid project will install mast arms and a speed feedback sign, realign medians, and update island and curb ramps at the Junipero Serra and King Drive intersection.
ADA Ramp Installations - This project will install ADA (Americans with Disabilities Act) sidewalk curb ramps for the streets being paved next year and the following years in order to comply with Federal regulations.
Demolition of Pedestrian Bridges - This project will remove two pedestrian bridges over Colma Creek. One of the bridges is located near Antoinette Drive and the other in Orange Memorial Park.
East Grand, Gateway & Forbes Intersection Improvements - This project will design improvements at the East Grand intersections at Gateway Avenue and Forbes Boulevard. RFP released Spring 2017.
Civic Center Plaza - This project will design and construct a new civic center including a new library, community center, police station, and fire station.
Adult Fitness Equipment Installation - This project will purchase and install adult fitness equipment along the Centennial Way Trail.
Vactor Sweeper Waste Receiving Station Improvements - This project is to design improvements to the Water Quality Control Plant's Vactor station to decrease silt and solid waste levels.
