Mission Statement
To prevent or reduce the loss of life and property due to fire, sub-standard building construction, natural disasters, hazardous materials, and emergency medical incidents by means of direct response, public education and code development and enforcement.  The 85 members of the South San Francisco Fire Department, headed by Chief Philip White and the Deputy Fire Chief David Matthew provide South San Francisco residents with top notch service in fire suppression, emergency medical services, code enforcement, fire investigation and public education.
