No one teaches us how to cope during caregiving, a most challenging time of life. In this interactive workshop, we will first explore what mindfulness is. Mindfulness strategies and tips will be shared to help make your daily caregiving journey go more smoothly whether you’re a new or experienced family caregiver. And, you will design a self-care plan to help lower your stress level and avoid caregiver burnout. Linda Abbit is the author of, The Conscious Caregiver: A Mindful Approach to Caring for Your Loved One Without Losing Yourself. Ms. Abbit is a family caregiver with more than 20 years of experience and founder of “Tender Loving Care,” a blog and online community for caregivers. In 2009 she received the Caregiver of the Year Award by CareGiving.com.
Free copies of Linda Abbit’s book will be distributed. Limited quantities available.
This event will be at the Magnolia Senior Center, 601 Grand Avenue, SSF.
