This year's National Night Out is Tuesday, August 6th! What is National Night Out, and how can you participate? It's an annual community-strengthening campaign that promotes, builds, and reinforces partnerships between law enforcement, City officials, Elected officials, and the community. Last year six South San Francisco neighborhoods participated, joining more than 16,000 communities nationwide in celebrating National Night Out. ***This year we have a total of eight! Four are open to the public; please see flyer below for details.*** Although each National Night Out event in South City has its own personal touch, all share five key elements: (1) Neighbors coming together as one; (2) Crime and drug prevention awareness and education; (3) Community resources; (4) Importance of police-City-community partnerships; and (5) Food and fun. And, all send the consistent message to criminals that we in South City stand united, organized, and poised to fight back against crime and drugs.
