NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

City of South San Francisco
Community Development Block Grant Program

The City of South San Francisco is holding a public hearing regarding the 2019-20 One-Year Action Plan (“Plan”).The Plan identifies Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG) funding priorities and describes the activities the City will undertake to address the City’s housing, community, and economic development needs. The Plan will be adopted by City Council on April 24, 2019 and will be submitted to the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) by May 15, 2019.

The Plan is available for a 30-day public review period from March 25 to April 24, 2019. Copies of the Plan are available at www.ssf.net, all City libraries, and the Department of Economic and Community Development. For additional copies, call 650-829-6620. The public can comment on the Plan at the April 24, 2019 City Council Public Hearing or submit written comments by April 17, 2019 to CDBG@ssf.net or to the address below

Summary of the Plan
The City’s FY 19-20 budget is estimated to be $682,000 and consists of: $450,000 – entitlement amount, $220,000 – prior year uncommitted funds, and $12,000 – HOME administrative funds. The CDBG Subcommittee has made preliminary priority recommendations for funding expenditures for FY 19-20. These are community and residents’ needs and Park and Recreation upgrades. Note these recommendations are subject to City Council action at the public hearing.
