PRESCHOOL & SUMMER CAMP UPDATE
Dear Childcare Families,
We hope you are all doing well at this time. We are exploring the possibility of reopening our preschools and offering summer camp programs in the near future. We will keep you posted when that decision has been made.
For summer camp enrollment, because of the current guidelines regarding childcare we had to reduce our enrollment numbers to meet the current policy of only allowing 12 children per classroom. Resident lottery numbers 1-100 who turned in applications have been registered and/or waitlisted for summer camp. You should have received a receipt for the camps you were enrolled in. If a camp is not showing on your receipt it means you have been waitlisted for that camp.
Lottery numbers 101 and above and all non-residents who turned in the paperwork have all been waitlisted.
How we’re planning for a fun, safe summer
Even though there will be changes to the program, the learning opportunities, educational curriculum and most importantly, the fun will continue in all of our camps and preschools. We still will have the same developmental curriculum at preschools well as traditional summer camp curriculum in place for the children to enjoy. Arts and crafts, science, sports, physical education, and health are still staples of our curriculum. We are working with our recreation administration team to have guest instructors teach in our programs as well as exploring other opportunities. Most importantly, children will be able to socialize with their teachers and peers, and work on their developmental milestones in social/emotional growth.
We are working with the Department of Public Health, South San Francisco Unified School District, California Department of Social Service Community Care Licensing Division, and our City of South San Francisco team. We want to ensure that all future programming offered by the City of South San Francisco will be aligned with the most current guidance to ensure the health and safety of our children and to continue to run the high quality childcare programs that we have always provided. The following are some initial changes that will occur in order to meet the current public health guidelines. Please note this is a fluid situation and as guidelines change we will continue to implement the most current guidelines into our programs:
Class sizes are reduced to 12 children per class. Your child may be transferred to another site that can accommodate these protocols.
- Relocation from Siebecker Preschool to Westborough Preschool may occur for some students.
- Campers enrolled in summer camp may need to be relocated to other sites to conform to the class size reductions, social distancing, and best practices.
- Playground use is currently restricted; however, all groups will enjoy time outside on blacktop areas, park areas, and/or other outdoor spaces.
- Fieldtrips, community adventures, or any other large group gatherings are not possible at this time for traditional summer camp.
- Specialty Camps at Terrabay are redesigned as a Traditional Camp. The cost for Specialty Camps will be reduced to Traditional Camp prices and a refund for the difference will be issued for families who are currently enrolled in Specialty Camp.
- Police and Fire Academy Camps are cancelled. Refunds will be issued.
We understand these are challenging times. We are here for you and we are preparing to serve your child. If you are planning to not have your child attend our preschool and/or summer camp programs, please email your request to firstname.lastname@example.org and we will offer a full refund.
Take care & Stay well,

FULL OF FUN Camp
The Full of Fun Camp came about as a result of parents of teens and young adults with disabilities asking about summer programs. In 2007 we designed and implemented our first camp. The goal was simple. To offer a camp for these special teens and adults that allows them to just “hang out” with their non-disabled peers. Full of Fun Camp operates for 3 weeks during the summer from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and once a month during the school year with our Nights Of Fun. For more information about our program or volunteering please contact Laura Armanino or Kimberly Morrison at 650-875-6900.
All coordinators, teachers, and staff of our programs are experienced and trained in the areas of child development, recreation, supervision, curriculum, first aid, and CPR.
