Summer Camp Registration
March 14, 2020
The City of South San Francisco Parks & Recreation Department will be accepting lottery applications for registration numbers that will determine the order in which prospective participants can register for available spaces in the 2020 Summer Camp program. Residents who live within the South San Francisco Unified School District boundaries will receive priority in the lottery pull.
Resident families interested in enrolling in summer camp will need to turn in a lottery form and proof of residency in order to receive a registration number. Non-resident families just need to turn in the lottery form, as there will be a separate lottery pull for non-residents. We will accept forms for the 2020 Summer Camp from February 21-28, 2020. It will not matter at all when families submit their lottery form as long as it is received by February 28th at 5:00 p.m. Applicants can turn in the form via one of the following options:
- E-mail at SummerCampLottery@ssf.net
- Mail to Childcare Division, 33 Arroyo Drive, South San Francisco, CA, 94080- Must be received by February 28th.
- Drop off at the Joseph Fernekes Recreation Building at 781 Tennis Drive in Orange Park. Business hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
You will only need to fill out a single form. Any registration that does not include proof of residency will be counted as a non-resident application and put in the non-resident pull. Do not submit multiple forms, one form per family only.
Participants will be notified during the week of March 9th as to the registration number they received. Lottery participants must plan to be present when their number is called on registration day on Saturday, March 14th in order to complete their enrollment.
We are still implementing priority registration for families in our after school programs. After school program families who wish to register in more than one Specialty Camp at Terrabay Gymnasium and Recreation Center will need to participate in the lottery.
Before & After School Recreation Program
The City of South San Francisco Parks & Recreation Department will be accepting lottery applications for the available spaces at the licensed After School Recreation Programs at Buri Buri, Monte Verde, Ponderosa, and Spruce Elementary Schools, and the REAL Programs at Los Cerritos and Martin Elementary Schools. Enrollment in the program will be determined by lottery.
Lottery applications for the After School Recreation Program will be accepted from April 1-10, 2020. Applications will be available April 1st and can be submitted via one of the following options:
- E-mail at AfterSchoolLottery@ssf.net

- Mail to Recreation Department c/o Childcare Division, 33 Arroyo Drive, South San Francisco, CA, 94080 -Must be received by April 10th
Please note that your lottery odds do not change based on when you drop off your application. You will only need to fill out a single form to complete the lottery registration for all programs as marked. Participants will be notified the week of April 20th as to if they received a spot or are placed on a waitlist.
The drop off for the lottery will be open for several days; therefore, it will not matter at all when families submit their lottery registration as long as they are received by April 10th at 5:00 p.m.
We are still implementing priority registration for children/families currently enrolled in our childcare programs. A yearly waiting list is established at each site. The waiting list is only maintained for the current school year and does not carry over to the next year. A new waiting list is established each year.
All families interested in the lottery can only submit a form for their legal children. We do not allow families to register friends or other family members in this process.

Many of the activities planned for the children enrolled meet the CORE curriculum standards as we actively partner with the schools to ensure the children are on a pathway to a successful academic career. FULL OF FUN Camp
The Full of Fun Camp came about as a result of parents of teens and young adults with disabilities asking about summer programs. In 2007 we designed and implemented our first camp. The goal was simple. To offer a camp for these special teens and adults that allows them to just “hang out” with their non-disabled peers. Full of Fun Camp operates for 3 weeks during the summer from 9:00 a.m.- 4:00 p.m. and once a month during the school year with our Nights Of Fun. For more information about our program or volunteering please contact Laura Armanino or Kimberly Morrison at 650-875-6900.
All coordinators, teachers, and staff of our programs are experienced and trained in the areas of child development, recreation, supervision, curriculum, first aid, and CPR.
