The South San Francisco Fire Department offers several CPR and First-Aid education classes to the general public.  Pre-registration is required at 480 N. Canal Street, South San Francisco (during normal business hours).

 

Basic Life Support (BLS)

Basic Life Support training reinforces healthcare professionals' understanding of the importance of early CPR and defibrillation, basic steps of performing CPR, relieving choking, and using an AED; and the role of each link in the Chain of Survival.

(about 4 hours long)

South San Francisco residents - $30.00, Non-resident $100

 

Heartsaver CPR AED

This course will teach you to recognize cardiac arrest, get emergency care on the way quickly, and help a person until more advanced care arrives to take over. The course also covers adult choking and naloxone.

Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED:

This course is designed to meet the regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 U.S. states. It teaches child care providers and others to respond to illnesses and injuries in a child or infant in the first few minutes until professional help arrives.  This class includes basic first aid, CPR, and AED skills for children.

(about 7 hours long)

Both resident and non-resident $120

 

Clase de Resucitación Cardiopulmonar (Heartsaver CPR AED en español)

This course will teach you to recognize cardiac arrest, get emergency care on the way quickly, and help a person until more advanced care arrives to take over.  Class is taught entirely in Spanish.

All classes begin at 9:00am.  Instruction is held in the South San Francisco Emergency Operations Center (EOC) located at 490 N. Canal Street, South San Francisco.
