Located near the bocce court at the westernmost point of the Orange Memorial Park Sculpture Garden is the city’s unique sculpture installation. This elegant piece rises dramatically from the ground while the alluring sound of trickling water and the mesmerizing pattern of cylindrical shapes serve to remind the viewer of the regenerative character of nature.
Dedicated on April 19, 2008, in conjunction with the opening of the Centennial Way, the Centennial Cascade captures the 21st century spirit of repurpose and renewal. It was made from window grilles that were removed from the South San Francisco Main Library. This striking sculpture was designed and constructed by the staff from the South San Francisco Parks, Garage and Street Department in honor of the city’s 100th birthday.
