Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day
Thursday, November 14 is Annual Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day! We honor and recognize Ruby Bridges, the first Black student at the delicate age of six, to integrate an all-White school in Louisiana in 1960. Students, families and friends are encouraged to join us on the steps of City Hall on November 14 at 7:40 am to hear from Mayor Coleman, other guest speakers, and a performance from “Music Notes”! After the program, students will safely walk to their respective schools. Please note, if your school is not within walking distance of City Hall, then you are still encouraged to walk to school from wherever you and your family feel is appropriate. Thank you and we hope to see you there!
