October is Filipino American History Month! Celebrate with us at our events throughout the month and check out books from our collection.
Events
Saturday, October 5, 10 AM – 2 PM, Library | Parks & Recreation Center first floor
The City of South San Francisco invites the community to celebrate Filipino American History Month with a kick-off event at the Library | Parks & Recreation Center on Saturday, October 5th starting at 10am.
Events will include singing of the Filipino and U.S. national anthems, launch of the Filipino American National Historical Society, San Mateo County Chapter, a showing of the documentary Delano Manongs: Forgotten Heroes of the United Farm Workers (2014), free food, and a special Filipino Family Storytime and craft.
Wednesday, October 16, 10:30 AM, Library | Parks & Recreation Center second floor youth library
Come and listen to author Justine Villanueva read Mungan and Lola, a touching story about a child who brings joy back to her beloved Lola through heartfelt rituals of care.
