Hello South San Francisco Community,

Eddie Headshot

We kicked things off this morning with our annual Pride Flag Raising Ceremony at City Hall and the Grand Avenue Library. It was a joyful morning filled with community, color, and connection—complete with coffee, treats, and powerful words affirming our city’s unwavering support for the LGBTQIA+ community. Thank you to everyone who came out to stand in solidarity. Your presence matters.

As your Mayor, I am proud to lead a city that doesn’t just talk about inclusion—we live it. Pride is about being seen, being celebrated, and being safe—and we are committed to making South San Francisco a place where all of that is possible, every day of the year.

Celebrating our Newly Promoted Firefighters

Group photo of firefighters in front of fire engine

On Thursday, June 5, we gathered at Fire Station 61 to celebrate the Spring 2025 Badge Ceremony—a tradition that honors the brave individuals stepping into new roles within the South San Francisco Fire Department.

It was a moving morning filled with pride, gratitude, and deep appreciation for those who have chosen to serve and protect our community. Whether newly hired or recently promoted, each person honored at the ceremony exemplifies the courage, dedication, and leadership that define South San Francisco’s finest.

To each of our honorees—thank you for choosing to serve our city. Your commitment ensures that South San Francisco remains safe, resilient, and ready for whatever comes next. We are grateful for your service and proud to support your continued growth in our fire department family.
