Hello South San Francisco Community,
Happy December! This is Eddie Flores, and as of this past Tuesday, I am now your new Mayor, the City’s first Salvadoran mayor, and the first Salvadoran-born immigrant to assume the role of mayor in the history of the San Francisco Bay Area! It is such an honor to share this historical moment with you all!
Our City council held a beautiful reorganization ceremony, at the South San Francisco Conference Center, recognizing Mark Addiego as your new Vice Mayor, and swearing in your re-elected Councilmembers, Mark Nagales for District 2 and James Coleman for District 4. I am excited to serve you in this new capacity, and connect with you in this weekly newsletter.
I am incredibly excited to serve you as your mayor. I am dedicated to growth, affordable housing, mental health, and sustainability. What I bring to the table is a deep understanding of our local challenges and a commitment to building a brighter future for all residents. Watch the short snippet above, and read the press release announcing our council's reorganization to learn more about me and what I stand for.
