Cricut Explore Air 2 & Joy Xtra Cutting Machines
What we are: Cutting machines designed for crafting and DIY projects.
Where we are: Main Library, 2nd Floor Discovery Center (Makerspace)
What we do: Our Cricut machines can cut a variety of materials including paper, vinyl, bonded fabric, and cardstock. They are perfect for creating custom designs for cards, decorations, apparel, and more.
What staff can teach you:
- Basic operation of the Cricut machines.
- How to setup and connect the machines to a computer or mobile device.
- Tips and tricks for using Cricut Design Space software.
- Guidance on different materials and tools compatible with the machines.
- Troubleshooting common issues.
We're recommended for ages: Makers under 13 must have adult supervision.
The library provides the blades and cutting mats for compatible projects, transfer tape for vinyl projects, and select pens/markers with adapters for the Cricut Explore Air 2. We provide basic materials such as cardstock paper, iron-on (heat transfer) and adhesive vinyl while supplies last.
Please bring your own specialized supplies for specific projects, such as Infusible Ink, “blanks” (t-shirts, canvas bags, coasters). Note that we do not have a heat press for 3D objects including hats or mugs, but we do have a standard iron for any blanks that can lie flat.
