Hello South City Community,

Eddie Headshot

There aren’t enough words to express the way my heart soared after last weekend’s Cultura Fest. The way our comunidad came together to celebrate our various cultures is something that will live with me forever. The parade, the art, the food, music and dancing…this was more than a festival. It was a generational and social shift - a declaration that South San Francisco is not just talking about equity, but living it. We are now being recognized as a true leader in what it means to celebrate culture safely with dignity, authenticity, and unity.

The outpouring of gratitude has been overwhelming. Every single social media post I’ve read has been filled with praise. People felt seen. They felt proud. This is the South City I’m so proud to call home.

Thank you again to all the sponsors and volunteers who made this special event possible. I encourage you to continue the celebration by sharing your stories with your neighbors, and attend our City events that celebrate our community. Be sure to check out the Upcoming Events portion of this newsletter and the City Calendar for more fun opportunities around the city!
