SSF Fire Department Honors 14 at Spring 2025 Badge Ceremony

Ceremony recognizes new hires and promotions across the department, including Deputy Fire Chief and Battalion Chief roles
SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif., June 5, 2025 – Fourteen South San Francisco Fire Department personnel were recognized this morning during the City’s Spring Badge Ceremony at Fire Station 61. The event marked a proud moment for the department and community as newly hired paramedic firefighters and recently promoted team members received their official badges in the presence of family, colleagues, and City leadership.
“Our department is defined by the strength of our people—those who show up every day to serve with skill, heart, and humility,” said South San Francisco Fire Chief Matt Samson. “Today’s honorees represent the best of our profession, and I’m honored to work alongside them.”
The Spring 2025 Badge Ceremony recognized the following individuals:

- Romilo Bautista, Paramedic Firefighter
- Andrey Lastovskiy, Paramedic Firefighter
- Jeff Cochran, Fire Engineer
- Domenic Cross, Fire Engineer
- Austin Jansen, Fire Captain
- Jeremiah Seipel, Fire Captain
- Kelly Moon, Fire Captain
- Janee Carter, Management Analyst I
- Bianca Llarena, Management Analyst II
- Terrance Gee, Safety Inspector II
- Jesse Lange, Battalion Chief
- Devin Flannery, Deputy Fire Chief
