Food Distribution Resources
The City of South San Francisco is empathetic to its residents who are dependent on the federal government’s Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (known as CalFresh in California) which may be ending due to the national government shutdown. Our hearts go out to the children, parents, and extended families who rely on this much-needed program to consistently provide nutritious meals for their families. If you or someone you know will no longer receive assistance, please refer them to the following resources which will hopefully provide some relief:
Food Distribution Sites:
- Meals on Wheels (food delivery to seniors)
 
- YMCA Food Distributions in South San Francisco:
- 840 W. Orange Ave., 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month, 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. (walk-in only)
 
- 1 W. Orange Ave. (enter parking lot off Memorial Drive),
- 1st Wednesday of the month,12:30 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. and
 
- 3rd Friday of the month, 1:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (walk-in only)
 
 
 
- Congregate Nutrition Program:
- 601 Grand Ave., Tuesdays and Thursdays, 12:30 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. (registration required)
 
 
- Grace Covenant Church:
- Alta Loma Middle School gate on Camaritas Ave., Saturday, Nov. 1, 8:00 a.m. – 9:30 a.m.
