Sign Hill Stewards: Habitat Restoration

Flyer_SignHillStewards 2019-page-001

Join the South San Francisco Parks and Recreation Department for a morning of fresh air, beautiful views, and meaningful habitat restoration on Sign Hill!

Many rare plant and animal species live on Sign Hill’s native grasslands, including the endangered mission blue butterfly. Help us conserve and restore their habitat by removing invasive plants and planting native plants! Sign Hill Stewards will do important work while also learning more about the wildlife in their backyard.

When/Where: Workdays are held on the second Wednesday and the following Saturday of each month from 9am - 12pm. We meet at the Sign Hill parking lot, located at the top of Ridgeview Ct, South San Francisco, CA 94080. Only heavy rain cancels.

Registration: Registration is required. To register, please visit our Eventbrite page https://www.eventbrite.com/e/sign-hill-stewards-habitat-restoration-tickets-80971751689 or email emma.lewis@ssf.net. Volunteers under the age of 18 must have a youth waiver signed by a parent/guardian at the event check-in. Youth under the age of 15 are welcome and must be accompanied by an adult.

What to bring: To prepare for working outdoors, please bring a water bottle, sturdy shoes, long pants and sleeves, and a hat/sunscreen. Volunteers should expect some hiking on steep terrain. Training, tools, and light snacks will be provided.
